As soon as Anne Shirley arrives at the snug white farmhouse called Green Gables, she is sure she wants to stay forever . . . but will the Cuthberts send her back to to the orphanage? Anne knows she’s not what they expected—a skinny girl with fiery red hair and a temper to match. If only she can convince them to let her stay, she’ll try very hard not to keep rushing headlong into scrapes and blurting out the first thing that comes to her mind. Anne is not like anyone else, the Cuthberts agree; she is special—a girl with an enormous imagination. This orphan girl dreams of the day when she can call herself Anne of Green Gables.

My Review

Anne is a 12 years red head who came to live at gables with the cuthberts . Though she came because of a misunderstanding but Mathew and Marrila decided to kepp her . From that moment her life changed forever . There she meets new people and make new friends and foe .

She and Diana became kindered spirits for the rest of their lives .

“Kindred spirits are not so scarce as I used to think. It’s splendid to find out there are so many of them in the world.”

This book was published in 1908 and the story is based in a fictional town of Avonlea of Prince Edward island of Canada in 1870’s . The culture and society a lot different from present time .

Anne surely faces a lot of judgement and discremination from the people of Avonlea but with time and the Cuthberts she become a part of the society .

One thing i can’t forget to mention here is her imagination and love for nature . She invents new names for the places around the cuthberts farm such as haunting woods , Birch path , Lake of shining waters , Green gables  and lover’s lane .

We have to applaud L.M. Montgomery’s imagination who created a character like Anne’s . I fell in love with the Avonlea world anf Anne . this book is good for people of all ages . Those who have love for imagination will fing this book very interesting .

“It’s delightful when your imaginations come true, isn’t it?”
